David’s
Portland, Maine, has many excellent restaurants to choose from (see my review of Twelve, Crown Jewel, Eventide, and Hugo’s), so it’s not surprising to visit yet another fun venue. With my parents in tow, my sister chose David’s, a charming Italian spot in town. The pours were generous, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed crispy and tangy Brussels Sprouts, USD16 (Sweet soy & lime glaze/candied almond crumble). Also, because apparently, we do things as a family, Team Brandt all selected the open-faced lobster ravioli dish (because, of course, we did), USD39 (officially Lobster/day boat scallops/white tiger shrimp/fresh herbed ricotta ravioli /sherried lobster cream). Absolutely and easily split between two people (yay, American portions!). This was ugly to look at but absolutely delicious to eat.
