Ergo
To be in the Dubai F&B scene is to know the work of award-winning Jimmy Barrat. Having moved on from Zuma, he’s now opened Ergo, a too-cool-for-school spot at the Dubai Edition. A somehow hidden space with a small balcony; I’d love it even more if the location weren’t so downtown. And yet, being removed from DIFC does this place wonders.
Jimmy has put together a collection of fun and quirky drinks, as well as some on tap and twists on classics. The Mr. Pink, AED60, is refreshing and delicious, and the Ergo Martini (literally, just one sip of The Botanist gin, EVOO, and Mandarin Oil), AED35, is something of a revelation. Honestly, yes, to more smallish drinks and genuine hospitality.
Would I return to Ergo? Without hesitation.
