Mercure Figeac
With a recent hectic every-night-in-a-different-hotel-room press trip to France, unfortunately, there wasn’t much time to appreciate our surroundings. Fortunately, one of our longer “stays” coincided with a night at the Mercure Figeac. Somehow, I had been assigned one of the largest/most unique rooms of my life. At this glorious and historical residence of former royalty, no two rooms are alike in this one-of-a-kind Accor hotel. Because of the hills surrounding the property, my room included a ground-level window of the charming cobblestone street, a look-out view of the street below, and a small peek into the cozy interior courtyard. It also has a separate toilet and shower (which, for the record are very, very separate at opposite ends of the suite). Apparently, there’s also a pool, which I somehow missed (we were in town for about 16 hours). Given the hectic nature of our stay, I’m unable to try any of the food at the hotel, but I do…
