As someone who loves hotels, I am wildly overdue in starting this series, but better late than never! For ease, I’ll be listing the cost of rooms in USD.
Tintagel Paradise Road (Colombo, Sri Lanka)
With an accidental delay due to a never clarified situation from EK/Fly Dubai, we found ourselves with extra time in Colombo. Enter, Tintagel (based on a recommendation from Eat Go See). The property is the old prime minister’s home, with limited rooms, and lots of class. The rooms are large, well-appointed, and the on-site Red Bar is a quiet spot of respite from the busy streets.
For our sixteen-hour stay, my notes are limited. The service was strangely slow at breakfast (even though we were the only guests). Also, our room (North East, Room 3) was in the direct path to the kitchen which made for some ambient noise I didn’t love.
