Salon 1905
Before our trip to Serbia, we looked at the Michelin guide for Belgrade (list only, no stars). Several places jumped out to us, including Salon 1905. Although a tasting menu was available, we ultimately decided an a la carte experience was best (which was correct, given we didn’t like most of the food). While I have no issue with the size of the portions, I fundamentally didn’t love what I ordered: some very odd cauliflower, a salad served at the wrong time, and the below, a tiny and delicious cheesy cake. Additionally, the amuse-bouche was a greasy mess we all had difficulty finishing. Overall, I felt the presentation of the dishes was overly fussy (to the point of intrusion).
Would I return to Salon 1905? I would not. As lovely as the service was, and as beautiful as the space is, I felt lucky that we went for lunch and not dinner.
