If you haven’t been to Portland, this is your official invitation. As always, we love the city’s low-key, accessible nature. Some highlights included Terilingua, Paper Tiger, Clam Bar, and Bird & Co. Did we watch (and enjoy) a surprising amount of Bluey? We did. Did we also watch a considerable amount of Hallmark movies? We did. Was it the end of the trip we needed? It was.
Late Wednesday, we made our way to Boston for our return QR flight, and no, we were not on the caviar serving route.
On Friday, how could I refuse an invitation from the Dubai Eye team? It’s always a delight to be on the show.

As much as Matt's article was an interesting read, it failed to call out the fact that the majority of restaurants in Dubai play music at uncomfortably loud volumes, whether the restaurant is high end, low end, full or empty. As someone who wants to talk to my friends when I go out, I always end up having to ask the staff to turn the volume down, which a) makes me feel ancient and b) sometimes turns into a battle over the volume control. After several weeks in Europe this summer, this has not been a problem once, so I'm not sure why this appears to be such a trend in Dubai *rant over*
