A few weeks previously, I made a reservation at Rare, recently opened CityWalk. When reviewing, I do my best to partner with locally developed restaurants whenever possible. Also, genuinely, I feel sorry for Sahil, the proprietor behind not only Rare, but also Chicago Meat Packers, one of the failed Nakheel projects at The Pointe.
I choose a Sunday lunch timing, as I do not enjoy getting in and around CityWalk. This proves the right idea; as we easily make it to our destination without any issues (and easily park on the street, although parking underground for the C2 section is fairly well signed). With that, as you would imagine, Rare is positioned where the other licensed venues are (something CityWalk has very clearly marked and defined, lest someone walks in and the sight of alcohol offend them). I have not yet checked the rest of them out (but have heard only good things about nearby Mythos).
Upon arrival, the interior offers an intimate vibe, although not as “fabulous” as The Nic…
