Brunch at Hutong last weekend with the Bookers was a definite success. Excellent atmosphere and wonderful service. Catch more of our meal here. #invited
On Monday, I finally finished a draft of a manuscript I’ve been trying to complete! (67,146 words, if you’re interested). Concluding the project has left me with some decisions about what to write next. Also on the author front, I’m excited to speak with local students next week about creative writing.
It was a mental day at K9 Friends on Tuesday, but my day was instantly improved by the arrival of The Kakao Guy’s Dulce de leche flan burnt cheesecake, which was perfect timing for Hubs’ birthday. #gifted
On Wednesday I was over to the Waldorf Astoria DIFC for an AHIC/GRIF networking lunch, with the Bull & Bear team showcasing Hilton’s new partnership with Fresh on Table. Working with local farmers to source produce for Hilton hotels is a fantastic initiative, and I’d love to see more of this sustainable approach. Back home, and back out again, we were over to BOCA for Eric’s birthday dinner. I encourage you to stop in and check out the tasting menu which offers incredible value for money (AED595 for two people and a lot of beautiful food). Our top picks were the Emirati Kingfish and the Tomato and Strawberry dessert (trust us). Interested in a quick peek? Check out my Reel here. The new menu launches Sunday, and yes, there’s even a wine pairing option. #invited
On Thursday, we were lazy at DRIFT, which, for someone who rarely goes to beach clubs, it’s one of my favorites (read: no kids and incredible people-watching). From the lunch menu, we were surprised by the portion sizes and beautiful presentation. I would happily order everything we had again. And yes, of course there is a quick video, if you’d like to see. #invited
Saving the best news for last, I received an invitation to the World’s 50 Best Restaurant awards on October 5th in Antwerp. I’m honored to join in the celebrations and look forward to sharing the experience with you.

This weekend is going to be busy! We’re trying Time Out Market for breakfast today, Reif’s new breakfast tomorrow, and the Passion F&B team chefs collab tomorrow night.
Finally, for those in Dubai, I’m curious — have you made plans for the holidays? Have you already booked a brunch, or are you planning on traveling home? My inner organizer wants to make decisions now!
