A super-sized version this week.
With a few cancellations this week (always a win in my book), I only ended up going to High Joint for their second anniversary and BOCA for a preview of the Discover Galicia menu (and their sixth anniversary, congratulations, guys!), which will be available next week. Casinetto sent me a package of nibbles that I’ll be enjoying this weekend, and I'm always happy to receive new Italian products (use my code ATOZ to save 10% or click here for my affiliate link). Driscolls Middle East also sent me a delicious packet of fruit, and they are having a giveaway next week, so it might be worth following their account (#collab). And finally, Home Bakery decided to surprise me with some of their delicious new ice cream flavors (Iced Espresso is a fave).
I stopped by the TODA (Theater of Digital Art) which is now running an installation of Impressionists at the Madinat Jumeirah (and only complained a little that it was all white dudes). If you want to see my face, here's what the experience looks like.
Finally, I stopped by the DED trader cafe to update my license for the next year. I feel it's worth mentioning that in 3 years, I've only been asked for my trade license number once. Otherwise, it's literally never been requested by a single company I work with. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

With numbers still up in the UAE, this weekend is going to be spent at home. Poppy had a visit to The Vet Hosptial this week, and we're keeping an eye on her paws (which she seems to be obsessed with).
Next week I’m looking ahead to a brunch date at Bistro des Arts, my rescheduled book club dinner, and a potential food club outing.
Also, I think it’s worth mentioning I have over 50K views on one image on Google Maps in under two weeks. Feel free to reach out to me so I can discuss providing impressions to your venue.
Point of conversation: Paying your freelancers. For the most part, I generally know who I’m working with ahead of time, and don’t ask for 50% upfront. Looking back, it seems incredibly naive to operate this way. Anyway, cut to me celebrating this week when I received payment for work I did in March. I have friends who are still waiting for thousands from certain publishers. I don’t have a question to ask, except to remind you that if you are taking on work from freelancers, please be prompt in your payments.
