Weekly A to Z, May 28th.
The one with the accidental tequila tasting.
An excellent week — progress on projects, and a lovely lunch at BOCA. The daily lunch menu offers value for money in spades, so make a plan to go if you’re near DIFC. In addition to our meal, we sampled some delicious (and pink!) Matusalem Insolito rum and Bonanto Apperitivo (personally, I prefer it over Aperol). Also, some of the BOCA team were preparing for an upcoming Patron competition, so we ended up trying and giving feedback on a bunch of tequila-based cocktails. #notabadTuesday
There were a few deliveries. Thank you, The Goods Collective for the yummy oat milk, and Casinetto paired with Peroni for a refreshing summer box that I can’t wait to make this weekend. The Bookers enjoyed a vegetarian feast at Epitome (even if we didn’t all like the book). Here’s my Reel from our visit, if you want a quick look.
Finally, you might see a few new posts up in the A to Z feed. I’m working on populating my subscriber-based platform with some (brutally) honest reviews. On that, if you have a review you’d like to post (anonymous or otherwise), don’t hesitate to reach out. The weekly newsletter will remain free, but if you’d like to read my unadulterated thoughts about various local and international venues, please consider subscribing (or, you can always buy me a coffee).

This weekend, The Bookers are getting together for some boat party hijinks. Next week, I’m looking forward to a dinner with Australian Beef and Lamb at Reform. Otherwise, I’m keeping things low-key.
What were my favorite dishes this month? It was a busy one! The Tresind Studio Ghee roast crab was memorable, the Matcha fondue from Reif Kushiyaki is something I’m still thinking about, and the beautiful Seafood Escabeche from Wave restaurant in Hilton Northolme also makes the list. What did you enjoy during the month of May?
