In an attempt to try and forget about the US taking away choices of bodily autonomy for much of its population (among other terrible decisions), we were invited for a lovely lunch at Sucre over the weekend (catch our visit here) and enjoyed dinner courtesy of The Phil, a new adventure from the team at long-time favorites High Joint.
A quiet week with some potentially exciting projects and K9 Friends — the generosity from the community has been incredible — and I also managed to get out to do some networking on Wednesday at the Future Hospitality Summit. A friend and I bounced around DIFC on Thursday, ending at Galaxy Bar, who partnered with The Botanist and talented local bartenders for some unique craft cocktails.
I finished my rough draft! A little later in the year than usual, but at 84,000 words, I’m happy with the manuscript. Next up, editing another book, of course (the third book in this series, if you’re interested). I’ve also been procrastinating on about 15 different things, so it’s time to get those checked off.

This weekend? We’re keeping things close to home, and maybe sneaking over to Teible for lunch. Hubs is flying to the States for Eid, so we’re trying to keep outside contact to a minimum before he travels. I’m here for the summer and genuinely looking forward to catching up on my long list of restaurants to review.
Next week, I’m looking forward to presenting at the Louis XIII Past, Present, and Future event (there might be a live stream if you want to virtually attend), and there’s a rumor the BonBons might get together.
Finally, oops, I (kind of) forgot to include my favorite dishes of June in last week’s edition, so here we are for my top 3 dishes: the asparagus at folly, the caviar tacos at 12 Chairs, and the dulce de leche at Sucre. There were plenty of other brilliant dishes, but I’m sticking by these three. What were yours?
