Weekly A to Z, July 23rd.
The one from Georgia.
Attempting to battle jet lag this week, we were able to relax and see family (and do plenty of shopping). We ate a fair amount of home-cooked meals — the best! — and spent the rest of the week catching up on some delayed paperwork and other appointments that can only be in person in your home country after two years. #expatlife
Hubs and I snuck out a few times, once to Athens, GA (where we met and started dating in 2001). Eric visited his favorite store, while I checked out a new restaurant, The Place, where I ate my weight in Southern food (pimento bruschetta with bacon, anyone?).
On Thursday, we went over to the Hotel Clermont (IYKYK) for a sneaky night in Atlanta and then enjoyed a degustation at Lazy Betty, with drinks on the rooftop. Full review coming shortly.
Today, we’re off to Portland, Maine, to see my sister and meet my littlest niece!

We’ll be back to Atlanta on Monday, and then finishing out the week with family and trying to soak up all this green (and rain). We depart back to the sandpit next Friday.
