Weekly A to Z, July 16th.
THE ONE WHERE WE GO HOME.
I somehow forgot that I haven’t been to my ‘home’ home since March 2019 (and Eric and I haven’t visited the States together since summer 2018). While I was in the U.S. three times in 2019, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Atlanta. Needless to say, I am excite. I’ll be most active on Instagram Stories if you want to keep up with our American adventures (spoiler alert, I get really excited about going grocery shopping and visiting Target). On the dining front, I’m mostly taking it easy, but looking forward to meals at Lazy Betty and Falling Rabbit.
In my week away in France, there were a few deliveries I had to queue up (which was great, because I don’t like buying groceries before big trips and basically our fridge is completely empty). Hubs and I also weren’t taking any risks this week, so I put myself on a moderate quarantine and kept to the house (rather than accept any invites).
Coming off an incredibly busy and stressful day at K9 Friends (summer months are always the most difficult), the arrival of a branded knife from Carnistore was a bit like Christmas in July. This incredibly sharp blade is beautiful, and yes, you’ll be able to buy one soon. After blink and you’ll miss it chat with Helen on Dubai Eye, One Life, who is now delivering in my area, sent across a code to order some treats from their menu. I was tempted by the filling Portobello Mushroom toast (with avo and egg), and a generous take on Pad Thai. #gifted
On Monday, Madar Farms sent across some beautiful greens (grown in the UAE). I made a massive salad and blended the remainder in a morning smoothie or two. For home chefs and professional cooks, the range of microgreens is exceptional. #gifted
Tuesday had the arrival of Crumb & Co! I might be the last person in Dubai to try these delicious doughnuts, and I am (very) sad I did not try them until now. This would be a great ‘I was on holiday and it’s my first day back in the office’ gift, if you forgot to pick up something at duty-free. Or, y’know just order because they are that good. #gifted
On Wednesday we went to get our PCR tests — negative! — and Thursday, I dropped Poppy off at Woof, who will be taking good care of her while we’re gone. Speaking of Pops (excuse my terrible transition), House of Pops made sure I had a lovely send-off with a selection of natural frozen treats. #gifted

I’ll hopefully be able to finish a newsletter next week, but please be patient with my timings, especially as I’m operating 8 hours behind the UAE, and spending precious time with my family (including meeting Baby H for the first time!!!!).
In advance of next week, Eid Mubarak! And safe travels if you’re on vacation. I hope to see you all back in Dubai in August.
If you enjoy this newsletter, consider telling a friend, purchasing my books (and these books), or buying me a coffee.
