On Wednesday, it was hand roll day. Taking advantage of quieter times, Matt and I journeyed over to Kokoro at Al Serkal for a fabulous lunch. Given there’s always something new in the market, I was very happy that the venue lived up to the hype. We (probably) ate way too much, but I appreciated the simple, straightforward menu. Rumor has it that more locations will open soon. #invited
Thursday was the big day! A massive thank you to the One & Only One Za’abeel team for a night in their fabulous hotel. I genuinely loved all the small design details, the absolute spaciousness, and the absolute best bathtub in the city (and no, I’m not being hyperbolic). The hotel was also the perfect host for the awards. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend every year, and I do think this was the best one yet (location, energy, Bibs included). The awards yielded some surprises, but I think overall, we can be so so so (!) proud of the industry.
, , and I are currently working on a longer opinion piece about the results, which we’ll be sharing this weekend. Of course, I would love to hear your thoughts! On Friday, there was a bit of recovery (read: late check out because I didn’t want to get out of my super cozy bed), and then it was over to the ARN studios to chat with Helen and Dan about the Michelin Awards. Another moment of gratitude goes to Simon for sending over some game-changing Pickl for us before going on air.
