On our first full day in Mexico City, we were invited to lunch at Sud 777, which is located in a posh part of the sprawling metropolis and led by Chef Edgar Nunez. It was a late lunch starting around 3 PM, but with jet lag, I honestly had no idea what time or day it was, only that I was hungry and looking forward to the meal. The space — a former reception hall — is broken into three distinct restaurants, with Sud 777 allocated to the beautiful “upstairs” overlooking a Japanese izakaya/bar. For the time of day that we visit, I’m in love with the natural light (and so is my camera). Overall, with abundant natural building materials and uniquely spaced rooms, it might be my favorite interior of the trip.
