Even though I've passed by Shanghai ME countless times during visits to DIFC, this was my first time trying the popular Asian fusion restaurant. Once inside, with larger-than-life doors on the podium level of Gate Village, the chic atmospheric lighting and thematic seating immediately impress. Guests can choose to sit outside on the glamourous bamboo and bougainvillea-filled terrace when there is cooler weather.
The unique design elements extend to our menus, including memorable details on our cocktail menu (literally, I get my phone out to take a picture and wonder why other restaurants aren’t doing the same thing). Once our drinks are selected, we turn to review the food selection. With cuisine inspired by the culinary traditions of East Asia, there is plenty to choose from.
