When I originally scheduled my trip to Sexy Fish, I genuinely thought I would have a leisurely lunch, write a short review, and be on my way. However, after my recent visit to the popular London restaurant, recently imported from the UAE—I felt it necessary to expand my thoughts on the experience. (Also, what is a Sexy Fish? As a Pisces, I genuinely have to wonder).
To start, parking is…weird. The valet for the restaurant is around the corner, sort of. Even getting to the “front” of the tower requires some fairly well-involved knowledge of the ever evolving DIFC/Gate Avenue area. Once parked, on arrival, Sexy Fish shows off just how OTT they are. There are tiles and beach-themed artwork everywhere (yes, even the lift floor has a mosaic). At the actual reception, guests stand under a massive bedazzled blue octopus. I suppose if there’s one city you can get away with this sort of thing, it’s Dubai (and maybe Vegas).
