Having filmed at Rhodes W1 earlier in the year, I was delighted to come back and try the Legacy menu, which includes a selection of dishes that Chef Gary Rhodes, OBE, created during his lengthy culinary career. The location remains the same — the slightly unsexy first floor of Grovesnor House — and it’s a mind-bender of a drive getting through the marina, especially on a Thursday night. The only person to blame is myself, as I have made the reservation.
Fortunately, on arrival, it is clear the team has been told to roll out the red carpet, and I am more or less instantly greeted with a glass of champagne. On the night of our visit, Sam Rhodes, Gary’s son and the GM, was unfortunately out of the country, so we were unable to experience the meal “through” him, but I know he stands proudly behind the menu.
