Pru.*
A star, yes. The price, no.
Set quietly on-property at Trisara (review found here), one-Michelin-starred Pru has built a reputation that could easily tip into self-importance. Fortunately, it doesn’t. Also, perhaps it bears mentioning, but walking in the door, I did almost no research on the restaurant — which is my preference! In Dubai (ahem, humble brag), I know most of the restaurants/chefs, so I’m usually aware of what the meal or style of cuisine will be in advance. Thus, going into a meal completely unaware and ready for a surprise (good or bad) was actually a fun experience.
On arrival (a quick buggy ride to the hotel lobby from our villa, followed by an SUV ride arranged internally by the hotel staff), we’re led to a freestanding building that we later learn was once Trisara’s front office. Fortunately, except for the private dining room (soon to be under renovation), the venue doesn’t read like a corporate location. Up the stairs (sorry, anyone with mobility issues), we’re led into the ‘library’ for snac…
