Sitting in the private dining room off the kitchen of Osteria Francescana (which also serves as a wine cellar), I can’t help but feel bad for the other guests, all of whom (like us) have queued to be prompt for our 12:30 reservation. And while they sit in the dining room, here we are on the first day of service with a new menu from one of the greatest living chefs. Making this even more special? Massimo is on hand only for lunch, not dinner, to serve and explain every course.
