Look, when the Bookers (my third book club in the UAE, and arguably a top-tier group chat that I couldn’t live without and chat to on a daily/hourly basis) finally arranged for a trip that made it out of the chat, my expectations were both high and at the same time also almost irrelevant. The location? A nearby emirate, Ras Al Khaimah. The weekend? Early May. However, I knew that wherever we went ultimately would not matter, as we were going to bring our own vibes and party.
So, when the Mövenpick Al Marjan was confirmed, I (honestly) didn’t do much research. If paying to stay in RAK, my preference is obvious — I’m a Ritz-Carlton girl, all day long. However, when traveling with a group, especially when invited, I’d be happy as long as there was air conditioning and decent Wi-Fi.
