Given my recent whelming experience at Smoki Moto and my underwhelming visit to SushiSamba, I didn’t know how to feel about my reservation at Hanu, the latest from the incredibly busy Chef Moon. However, I had heard and seen good things, so I went in with an open mind. After all, given that this restaurant is my ‘neighbor’ (Hanu and Tresind Studio are next door to each other), I wanted to enjoy the experience.
And I did!
On arrival, we pass by a table of parents and children and are then seated next to a couple with a baby. Listen, friends with kids, I see you, and I’m delighted you are taking the next generation of foodies out (and at the right time), but in a large restaurant, I can choose not to sit directly next to you. The waitress was happy to comply, and my dining partner and I moved across the dining room to a more suitable table.
