I’ve been in the folly circuit for several years, having been to try and eaten as many crispy hen’s eggs and lamb saddles as one can imagine. (Catch one of my first visits here, when I was just starting out). Fans of the brand will know the upscale British menu, ubiquitous folly pops, and most likely have a photo perched on the rooftop.
With a recent invite to try some of the new menu, on arrival, my dining partner was a bit amazed at my ability to navigate the Madinat Jumeirah. As a gal who gained her Dubai Stone at the closed but never forgotten Agency, danced her heart out at Jambase, and visited with many a tourist, I am proud of my ability to retain useless directions (like finding my way around the Souq).
Upon arrival, we’re asked if we would prefer to dine outside or enjoy a cocktail on the roof, but this is June, and temperatures are just a bit too warm. Still, we step out to have a look at the Burj Al Arab, still shining after all these years.
