Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the recently opened restaurant Fat Uncle. There is no real reason behind the name — we asked — but I think the team should probably come up with some believable story, simply for marketing purposes. Located on Al Wasl, this is not a usual location I would try; however, the menu looked interesting, and I’m ultimately glad I stopped by.
With entrances in the attached ‘mall’ and from the rear of the building, I easily found street parking for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Apparently, there is a valet, as well as underground parking. Inside, the contemporary location has seating for almost 60 people. Yes, finally. In a city of oversized venues, walking into a normally designed outlet feels weirdly comforting. (More seating will be available on the outdoor patio in cooler months).
