So, real talk: I’ve known about the existence of Craft by Sidehustle in Abu Dhabi for over a year. Why? I am an investor in Sidehustle, the alcohol brand, and what’s officially brewing at the venue. Craft by Sidehustle is a separate endeavor related to the brand. Was the restaurant meant to open in August 2023? Yes, but the UAE, being the UAE, Craft (finally) opened in December 2023. Chef Troy had always been the right person to lead the food side of the operation, and to see his talent played out in person was nothing short of a joy.

Amidst our recent “deconstructed” kitchen, I dash to Abu Dhabi for lunch, revisiting the location of one of my very first reviews in Abu Dhabi, the (now closed) Roberto’s — the space that Craft by Sidehustle now occupies. The Galleria has changed and expanded over the years, and I personally think Craft by Sidehustle is an excellent addition to the F&B portfolio.
