There’s a special kind of Southern hospitality that speaks conversationally rather than shouts, and you’ll find this style woven into every thoughtful detail at Common Thread in Savannah. Tucked into a charmingly restored Victorian home just outside of the main downtown area, this restaurant is more than just a meal; it’s a narrative (or, at least, on its way to being one).
While we (oops!) decide that street parking isn’t available (it is, and honestly, a valet stand wouldn’t be at all out of place here — not just because I’m used to Dubai, but out of genuine hospitality for guests), we have to do a bit more walking than intended. However, approaching Common Thread is one of those stereotypical Southern experiences. You can picture it — Spanish moss in the trees, a balmy evening, that big house with the wrap-around porch.
