With foodie friends visiting Clay recently, I will admit that I went in with high expectations. And yes, dear reader, this was yet another Nikkei/Peruvian concept. And yes, I realize that this was my choice.
Upon arrival, Clay’s entrance is slightly tricky to find. Guests of Clay check in at the front desk on the ground floor and then are whisked up to the main restaurant via a lift, which is slightly reminiscent of Amazonico (only not quite as cool/interesting). However, if you need a landmark in the (not well-signed) Bluewaters district, aim for Madame Tussauds.
Upon arrival to the main floor, the lighting is quite dim, but we’ll give the benefit of the doubt and go with the intention of being ‘thematic.’ As with most restaurants in this concept, there is a lot of space for seating. Perhaps too much space. Perhaps I’m really over dining rooms for 200+ people. Ahem.
