I have been to several locations created by Chef Jason Atherton across the world, so it was with some optimism that I approached the recently opened City Social at Grosvenor House. Fortunately — unlike previous restaurants — the location is well-signed and easy to find. There’s a dedicated lift, and arriving on the 44th floor, I manage to get in just before sundown. I’m treated to fabulous views over the marina, looking back towards Bluewaters. The bar and lounge are something of a showstopper with high ceilings and a massive multi-story wine vault. City Social is set across multiple areas, so that no space is overwhelming, even though there is room for 120 guests.
After a drink at the bar (a relatively average Cosmo, for the record), we are shown to a beautiful corner table overlooking the marina. It was easy to see the marina skyline in this still lovely April weather.
