Let it be said I am willing to give second chances and, in rare cases, even a third opportunity. In the case of award-winning Chef Mauro Colegreco, this marks the third visit to Celebrities. Readers might remember our cringe-worthy dinner earlier in the year (of which I told myself not to return). And yes, gentle reader, I was suckered in by the promise of the same globally awarded chef again, only to be disappointed. Again.
Upon arrival, the team proudly announces a ‘refresh’ to the venue. Other than removing some of the rather tacky light fixtures (I think my earliest definition of the space was akin to a dated cruise ship), the interior feels entirely (?!?!?) the same. I could be wrong, but there was nothing more than a gentle refresh of the curtains and perhaps the tables in a slightly different configuration. Ahem. Still it’s still an elegant location; the address is at the One & Only Royal Mirage, which is always a pleasure.
