One day, we found a place, an enchanted place with a ruin painted by time, on a land dotted with centuries-old holm oaks and stunning views of a lake. It’s been a minute since I covered a hotel, but Casa Nossa isn’t a hotel or a resort; it’s a property.
About a 2.5-hour drive from Lisbon, Casa Nossa sits on the largest artificial lake in Europe, Lake Alqueva. However, with hectares upon hectares of space for the property, there is not a neighbor to be seen (or worry about). On a cool afternoon in January, after a winding (and slightly bumpy road), our group stepped through the welcoming doors of the main building.
