It was with some excitement that I accepted (another) invitation to Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. With the temptation of spending a night in a club lounge room, I was happy to attend the “Impossible” magic show by DMC — that’s Netflix and NatGeo-featured magician Drummond Money-Coutts — and review dinner at Broadway. The Palace is always a welcome place to stay, even if we have a bit of an awkward entry to the hotel. A rather tall Chinese gentleman escorts us to our room without any conversation whatsoever. I’m not looking for a lot of small talk, but any effort would be appreciated on the (nearly) half-kilometer walk to our room. However, the space remains lovely, and the lounge can’t be beat. In the EP Lounge, we’re welcomed with a generous glass of champagne and then return to our room for an afternoon chill-out (watching Hallmark holiday films).
