Chic eats at Jumeirah Al Naseem.

So, let me start by mentioning that I had one of the worst experiences as a food writer the last time I was at Beefbar in its original location at Currency House, (circa 2018). Long story short, I posted an honest opinion on Instagram Stories (spoiler alert, I wasn’t happy with my visit), and the slightly completely misogynistic GM literally called me and asked me to take the images down. I capitulated, only because this is the UAE, and we have rules here. The whole thing (pun intended) left a bad taste in my mouth.

I say this because Beefbar and I have a bit of history.

Fortunately, I’m willing to forgive and forget, and the new Al Naseem location immediately entertains (even if we accidentally enter through the wrong door). What used to be a Black Tap — pour a Freakshake out for the kiddos, y’all — is now a chic, sophisticated space, befitting of a third-party Jumeirah experience.
