What can I say about the newly revamped Atmosphere? From what I remember, I enjoyed visiting the sky-high restaurant in my early days in Dubai (circa 2008, but who can be sure). I recall a relatively straightforward 40th birthday party for a friend and another hazy night in the lounge where long-term friendships were formed. So, with an invite to the ‘new’ Atmosphere, and strict warnings from friends who were at the launch, I tried to be optimistic about my visit in late February.
What can guests expect? To start, the location remains the same. Upon arrival, guests make their way to the rear of the Armani hotel entrance and ‘check in’ with a reception area on the ground floor. There might also be access at the bottom of the Burj, but I didn’t see any specific signage. Via high-speed lift, guests will arrive on the 123rd floor, only to be more or less forced down a flight of stairs. As grand as the entrance is, I still question why the elevator can’t simply open at Atmosphere. Ahem. Onc…
