I’m not going to lie; I’ve been on a disappointing string of restaurants in the past few weeks (saved by the exception of old favorites — I’m looking at you, Tresind Studio). With The Orangery opening literally in our backyard (a 40 minute walk each way if the weather wasn’t scorching), it seemed like an easy destination for a school night. For the record, I had no interest in the next-door family-friendly Phileas Fogg, and we know there is a difference because we are literally told three times ‘The Orangery is fine dining.’ I might beg to disagree with the classification, but let’s get to the review then…
The interior of The Orangery is similar to Phileas, in that ‘Edwardian parlor’ approach, but it works. The entrance is a bit difficult to find, and we suggest a bit of extra signage would help out here. Fortunately, without a reservation, we’re able to be seated, which is appreciated.
